Ray Camden is reporting that HostMySite is offering a free CF8 hosting account to tryout CF8. If for some reason you don’t run anything locally or can’t under penalty of death mess up your dev environment this is a good solution.
Get it while it’s HOT!
I’ve installed it and am going to start playing around with the CFForm stuff. YAY!
Computer World has an article about the top 10 “dying” or dead computer skills. Low and behold ColdFusion is listed.
I am getting sick and tired of people dissing CF. I really think that all the negative is due to the fact that it has been around for so long. In the world of fly-by-night languages ::cough cough:: ruby ::cough cough:: that if it isn’t new and buggy it isn’t “cool”.
I love ColdFusion because it allows me to get things done and fast. I was able to build a whole marketplace in almost 4 weeks and in my spare time! It would have taken a team of developers to do it in 2 months what I did in 4 weeks… did I say that was in my SPARE TIME!
So to all the haterz get a life. ColdFusion is around, it’s awesome and I am no less a programmer if I use it.
done.
I have to say I am not the fanboi of RoR and I think to compare Rails to a language is kind of dumb… but all that aside these are pretty funny. I think more because the opposing languages are represented so well.

Well I got the opportunity to meet the great Ben Forta last week when he came to Nashville on the Scorpio tour 2007 (t-shirts pending). It was an awesome time and I can’t wait for Scorpio to come out.
In Forta’s blog he links to a picture that just about sums it all up… just not right!
