@mike Is this with the MacPro? I change the batteries in my wireless microsoft keyboard about once every year or so.

I would not recomend using the wireless keyboard. Not only do you have to replace the batteries often but I’ve had bad luck with keyboard causing the computer to freeze. I believe its a driver issue. In addition if you every need to reformat you computer you will need a wired keyboard to help with the reloading process.

Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000. I find split keyboard designs far more comfortable, and the Mac drivers make it work just fine. I’ve been using the MS Natural line for about 8.5 years all day every day and I have no hand trouble at all.

I use the wireless bluetooth new-style keyboard (the little one) and absolutely love it. I don’t ever use a numeric keypad even when it’s there and the incredibly small amount of desk space it takes up is fantastic.

I use the new Mac keyboards on all of my macs. Not the wireless one, just the usb one mainly because of the reason you stated. I HAVE to have the keypad on the side. Its hands down the best keyboard I have EVER used. The keys took a day to two to get used to but now that I have been using it for a while, my typing speed has actually increased.
