What I did the other day [Video]

My friend Matt works at Hilltop Studios here in Nashville which is a pretty old but very historic studio. He gets to have free time so we work on small projects that he puts together. My friend Keithan and I put down drums and keys for him on various projects.

Coolest thing is that lots of people have recorded there including Ray Charles when he was doing his Nashville sessions. Though not the same piano, the Steinway was retired a few years back for this Yamaha, it was still awesome to be what felt like the presence of royalty.

Here is the vid…

Hi JJ, Very nice! A lot better than me banging out chopsticks. I played piano a little when I was a kid. I wish I was better, and I wish I could do that hand and finger thing you can do. Too cool. Nothing like good piano and good music.

PS. You may want to let viewers know there is very little sound in the beginning. I was double checking my volume levels after the video started (I usually have the sound turned off). Anyway, great vid!

Thanks Steve! Though I do programming, music has always been my love. It is nice to be able to get to play around but not have to worry about it being my income generator :-)

hi JJ, I wish I had more… no, some… no, just *any* musical talent. :-) At least I can enjoy listening to music! I agree with what you say… it’s nice to be able to enjoy doing something without worrying about it being your income generator. It’s also nice if you enjoy doing what you do to generate income! Regarding playing music, I’m sure that just like with sports, for every financially successful musician there are a hundred musicians that hope to be financially successful some day. ~ Steve (no musical talent to speak of but plenty of trade show booths)
