I heard Dave say on the radio that he tends to support republicans because he does not believe in the big governmental programs where the overheard is huge, the waste is always present, and it takes away personal responsiblity. He often ridiclues "social insecurity" (aka Social Security) and uses that as an example of how our govt has messed up thinking. If that money were invested privately it would generate much more income for people. Additionally, the taxes the dems have favored (Obama especially) are basically "income distribution," just as George Bush's tax plan was....Dave didn't qualify for the refund check even though he paid more into the system than most, yet those at the bottom who didn't pay got to get a check that really was Dave's hard-earned money. Watch Town Hall for Hope on April 23 at 8:00 p.m. nationally (at churches across the country); Dave will conduct a meeting with average citizens and discuss the state of the economy and what he feels we can each do to improve our fiscal situations. As a Dave Ramsey volunteer facilitator I guarantee you Dave would never support Obama's economic policies. NEVER EVER!

I would say that your point about people not suddenly jumping up above the "5% of top income-earners" threshold is quite accurate, as it is not common at all for individuals to double or triple their salaries in the way that it was described. Also, the point about the medical insurance situation makes sense, because the money paid for insurance has to mean that it insures against possible events, or else it would need to be described more accurately to consumers.

Your point that Dave wants to help middle class people is true. Your points on tax and health insurance are wrong. Dave believes in helping the income groups you reference but not via a government handout and he sure does not want the government getting its hands into our healthcare system. Dave correctly asserts that most things the government does, it does not do well. This is why you will see Dave tend to support conservatives for the presidency. He believes in helping through VOLUNTARY giving and job creation. Both of which depend on low tax rates for ALL income levels. Obama wants to take from the rich and give to the poor and take a government sized administrative fee out of the pot to boot!
