So this blog is changing a little. When I first started it I was a ColdFusion programmer that loved what he did and loved writing about it. As I approached 30 this past summer I started to feel like there was a void in my career path that needed to be evaluated. I started thinking about what I loved to do and I kept coming back to media. I started as a designer many years ago and fell in to ColdFusion as a natural progression of making my websites do things. Before I knew it I had a full time job doing it and the next 10 years of my life flew by.
I got married, had 3 kids (with another on the way) and dev work was stable and kept coming. It was easy.
This summer I started to get back in to video, photography, and motion graphics. It is what I love to do and it is starting to go to the forefront of my career.
I’ve started to do more “production” as opposed to just straight web development and I am LOVING IT! I get to create and manage projects but don’t have to code day in and day out and be a total nerd. I get to play around with other technologies like RoR and PHP, WordPress and Joomla!, AfterEffects and Final Cut Pro, it has been a whirlwind!
Needless to say you are going to see a lot of things posted to this blog that may not be what you originally signed up for and that is ok. I still will post things on technology since that will never leave me but it won’t be strict ColdFusion.
So here we go to the second act of my life!
